Who Watches the Watchmen?
Enflamed Thoughts (EnnVee)
Looks good. If you dropped the cape, it’d look like a school uniform (A villainous school, of course!). Nice separation of colors, and an overall good concept.
Nightbarb (ddgryphon)
I like the name, although this palette probably isn’t the best suited for what I’m guessing is a Spines/Dark character. The tattered sleeves, while not so great looking on their own, manage to add to the concept. It’s only natural that spines would shred clothing. Even though they’re two different shades of red, I’d still swap the red and black colors on the thigh highs to avoid the overlap.
Coral Fang (AkuTenshiiZero)
You did a fantastic job avoiding the “bumble bee” look with this scheme. The spiked boots and gloves add to an already pointed look for a claws character. Nice balance and consistency throughout.
Score One for Soviet Russia! (Genkio)
This looks like what I'd guess would make an excellent generic Soviet soldier's uniform. I'd probably make the shades red, though. Oh, and I'd definitely change the color of the gun. ;)
The Old Frontiersman (Electric_Knight)
This is a fitting homage to Rorschach. The ink-blotted one would be proud.
Frau DasBoot (Angel_Red)
Could this be Dick Tracy’s evil grandmother? Just kidding. I’m not so sure I like the blending on the skirt. It kind of looks like she’s been wading hip-deep in muck, and her skirt got stained. Other than that minor quibble, it looks good.
Shinigami (ArticPathos)
Does he like apples? Death Note jokes aside, this is a good costume. I like how you held on to some Japanese elements – not only the samurai boots and gloves, but the face is very kabuki-esque. It’s unfortunate his neck couldn’t be black, too. I might swap colors on the wings. The lighter yellow might look better on the membranes of the wings, and less banana-y.
Blaze Bunny (Nod)
The other head shapes always looked odd to me, but you manage to pull this look off well. The face, overall use of red, and ridiculousness of the bunny ears reminds me of Plastic-man for some weird reason. Still, nice job!
Hornet Jones (ToollooT)
I like the old-school look to this costume and that it's his grandmother's (I'm not going to ask how it actually fits him). I'm not real clear on how the shredded cape fits in thematically, but it doesn't detract from the overall look. Seeing as how the wasp emblem is black, you could've probably gotten away with making the boots red in order to match the gloves, depending on how that looked.
Gaspard (Gaspard)
Even though this design is predominantly black, you do an excellent job of fitting the rest of the palette in by simply using the other colors as accents in appropriate places. Good job!
Madame Natalya (Seraff)
Another uzi wielding mastermind, eh? The cyborg face fits well with that hair style, and the fiery/smokey eyes is a nice touch, and kudos for an excellent use of the pencil skirt. Nice job.
Char Kohl (Tripp_Hazzard)
I think I see what you're going for here. The black shoes are symbolic of charcoal and the red to yellow scheme that flows up from there is representative of the flames that emanate from the charcoal. I like the idea, but I think it might be better served with tights instead of pants so that you could use a blend of black to red on the boots for a smoother transition. I would also consider using white on the belt to avoid the gold on gold look that you have now.
Kung Pao Pimp (SN0WJ0B)
Your description of the character is funny, and really goes a long way to set up what might otherwise be a ridiculous design. You have an excellent balance of colors, avoiding any overlaps, and it all makes sense within the overall concept of the character. Nice job.
Mein Reich (Barron_)
All of the elements in this design really come together nicely, and your color choices really sell the German uber soldier.
Heatlash (BuckeyeStar)
I love this design. It is insanely cool, and I wish I would've thought of it. :p Unfortunately, it doesn't make use of the entire color palette. I would hate to discourage anyone from particpating in these exercises so I hope you'll continue to contribute designs in the future. I think you'll find it easier to create something new within the confines of the color palette rather than trying to shoehorn an existing design.
Hive Employeeez (BlackberryThorn)
At least someone cares about the useless cannon fodder... er, I mean... absolutely necessary henchmen. Yeah... I like this design. It's clever and nondescript enough for the faceless minions. And the faces they do have are scary. The red looks like blood smeared over the mouths of carnivorous bee people. Are those flies buzzing around them?
And the winner is...Mein Reich!
