Desert Bloom 2

Shelia Monster (EnnVee)

I like the subtle play on ‘Gila monster’. It’s too bad this palette wasn’t brighter, then you really could’ve ran with it. I also like the beastly design. Adding the rebreather to the mix makes it seem like an alien character. I’d prefer a different color for the pants to give it more separation – unless, they’re not meant to be pants.

Seeds of Change (Baisleac)

Nice job. I like the way you’ve used the colors, and the darker skin tone really helps that light color pop. The use of the blue is well-balanced throughout. I’d probably use something other than the metallic pants in this instance.

Sara N'geti (Zekiran_Immortal)

Great name! You did a fine job of creating a lion’s likeness. The rough leather pants and boots are especially appropriate, giving the character a sense of nomadic/tribal plainsman quality, which unfortunately, I think the valkyrie skirt and chest piece clash with. They’re almost too modern here. At least that’s my impression of what you’ve created here. You may have entirely different already mapped out.

Brierweed (Nod)

I like the dried out plant look you’ve achieved for this plant/thorn dominator. The beard is a little out of place on that face. As a matter of fact, I think the face itself is what’s out of place. Then again, that might be due to it being the only use of blue in the costume. I’d change the face and see about spreading out the blue then, you’ll be all set.

Resurgent Thistle (Angel_Red)

This is an interesting looking plant/critter hybrid. I like the use of blue on the organic chest piece. It makes the roots look like veins, which leads me to think that it might not be the best choice for the wings. Maybe switch them so the blue is the thin membranes and not the “fingers”.

Philosopher Stone (BlackberryThorn)

Very nice design! It’s got a great use of color, and it’s balanced throughout. As was previously discussed on the boards, I have to agree with the boot spikes looking out of place. The thorn pattern should be sufficiently pointy, don’t you think? Still, it’s an overall excellent design.

Sand Mole (Gaspard)

There’s something about this one that I really like. Maybe it’s the simplicity of it. I think all the costume pieces you’ve used work well together, and your color choices make this look like a well-conceived costume design.

Solaris Sentinel (TremDei)

An excellent design. Even though there’s so much gold throughout, it doesn’t look odd or ridiculous, and that’s due to a good use of contrasting shades creating a visual pattern. Even though you only used the blue in three small areas, it is effective and lends itself to the design very well.

Atacama (Memphis_Bill)

Atacama looks like he went to the same fashion designer as Sand Mole (I know it’s coincidental). You did an excellent job of re-creating your inspiration. The blue comes across as bright and vivid, even with that darker lighting. I’m curious as to why you didn’t use a blend on the gloves like you did on the legs and chest. Having that crisp delineation between colors goes against an already established pattern.

Psi Shrike (Starwind)

Overall, I like this design. I do have a couple nitpicks, though. The spikes seem inappropriate for this character, especially since her powers are of the mental persuasion. It’s too bad we don’t have that shoulder option without spikes. The belt – it’s so tiny that it really doesn’t need to be there, plus it unnecessarily breaks the flow of skin from torso to pelvis.

Widow Midas (Altoholic_Monkey)

My first thought is to gripe about this looking like a standard Fortunata with a different color scheme, but I reminded myself that the use of color is just as important as the pieces chosen. In that regard, you did well. Each section or texture has it’s own color or colors and really beats the viewer over the head with a golden mallet. A curiosity: why Widow Midas instead of Midas Widow (like Black Widow, Blood Widow, Night Widow)?

Sweet Desert (ToollooT)

Judging by the face and hair color, I'm going to guess this character is something other than human. What it is specifically, is unclear. There is a good distribution of color, including accents. I can appreciate the variety of costume pieces used in this design but, there's something about this combination that looks random to me that I can't quite put my finger on.

Mohave Sands (Barron_)

The top screencap in this collage turned out to be an excellent composition. As for the actual design, I think it works great. The confucius mustache looks like whisker-esque protrusions from a reptile's face. And given such a reptilian appearance, why use a scorpion chest emblem? I'm not sure you need the arm spikes. He may look sleeker without them.

Silent Treasure (Morgenstern)

I take it you didn't get time to make a corrected version? Well, I can at least comment on where I think you're going conceptually. Arabian dancer, right? I like it. There's a good selection of costume pieces (except the padlocked belt - not so sure about that one). With everything combined, I get the sense that she's a stalker, infiltrating King's courts and slaying them during or after an exotic performance.

Savior Sphinx (BurningNightmare)

You did a good job of achieving an Egyptian theme for this character. Using the darker gold on the gloves and especially the boots keeps him grounded as the colors lighten towards the center of the costume. Two questions: why the full face mask instead of a face with gothic make up or tattoos, etc.? And why have the ears protruding from the headdress? Neither detracts from the design. I'm just curious as to why you took the direction you did.

Caracal (ArticPathos)

Great name choice! Did you actually make this character on a live server? If so, I'm surprised the name was available. I would like to see it with one of the darker golds as the dominant color to see if it gets close to the shade of fur on a real caracal. Using the blue as accents was a good decision. Is that a rope belt or a gap due to one of the bikini patterns? What about the white bands on the leg wraps? Is there no second color on those pieces?

And the winner is...Atacama!
