Other Color Palettes:

American Hero - Light

Battalion Betty (Oathbound)

I like the old-school feel of this design. It’s reminiscent of World War II posters and patriotic characters. The one thing I don’t like, however, is the Valkyrie wings sticking through the buns in her hair. They just look odd and out of place here.

American Dream (EnnVee)

I like the sleek, sexy look of this outfit. I think it needs a touch of blue in the upper body to help balance it out. The shoulder pads would be a good place. I might also consider dropping the chest emblem entirely since it doesn’t exactly stand out from her skin tones.

Ideal Relic (BlackberryThorn)

What can I say about a faithful re-imagining of Uncle Sam? The only changes I’d make would be to the hairstyle, and maybe make the brooches white.

American Footborg Player (Genkio)

Kudos to you for the helmet alone! It’s too bad the pieces don’t quite line up better. I think this design is heavy on the blue. It could use some more of the reds distributed throughout, even if only for trim lines and whatnot.

American Justice (ToollooT)

Here’s another design with clever use of head and mask pieces. The shield is great. I wouldn’t change it. I’m not sure why, but that much pink showing on his body bugs me. It’s almost like he’s “inside out man” with some blue pads thrown on for protection. Perhaps combining both blues on the body, and both reds on the boots, gloves, etc. might change the effect.

Poised Poison (Drewyn)

This design gives off the impression of being a villain with the spikes and horns. I like what you have going on here except for the gloves and the boots. My first instinct tells me they should be red with white spikes, and the belt should use the pink color instead of white.

Color Guard (Morgenstern)

I really like this design. I can see this as a uniform for a patriotic police force. Is the visor actually colored white, but it looks silver due to the texture of the piece? I’d also like to see this with some other shoulder pieces. I’m not sure the Gladiator one works best here.

Pulse Girl (Coldcrash)

This is a nice, clean design. The striped legs remind me of the Wicked Witch that the house fell on in Wizard of Oz. The blend from the upper body to the skirt is subtle, but works well. I’m kind of iffy on the chest straps, though. Do they serve some conceptual function? If not, I might consider removing them.

The American Brave (Zekiran_Immortal)

This is a clever design. I like the Native American tribal twist on this one. That’s the dagger pattern, correct? It works so well here. I also like how you used the darker colors on the body and the lighter ones on the gloves and boots. It’s almost symbolic, as if this character is a good guy, but just under the surface is a darker core.

Ichthyus (Almighty_Malachi)

My first suggestion is more of a question. Where’s the white? The belt and trident chest emblem would be perfect places to use it. The finned gloves and boots in addition to the scales help give this an aquatic feel, but the antennae and division of color do not.

All American Girl (Angel_Red)

I like this design. It’s simple military schoolgirl outfit. The fishnets are a great place to use a color that isn’t white. And, I’m not so sure about that particular belt, but I also don’t have any immediate suggestions either. Nice job.

Dotty (Baisleac)

The spots! They hurt my eyes! Seriously though, that’s an odd mixture. I like what you have for the lower half of the body, and I think you just need to carry some of that throughout the rest of the design.

Independence Day Barbie (ArticPathos)

This is a funny one. Everything about the head gives the impression that this is a doll. I think you should make the top and the skirt the same color, and match the gloves with the boots, and it’ll look less haphazard.

American Ammo (Nod)

I like the use of the blues on the justice patterned body parts. It’s similar to the effect I suggested for American Footborg Player. My only suggestion here would be to drop whatever pattern that is on the boots. They’re just getting covered by the overhanging material anyway.

Ameristrike (Phightin)

Nice job, overall. I like what you did with the head, and the arms give him a bionic man look but, I think he should be wearing a shirt of some kind. I’m not digging the bare chest appearance in this case.

Unfurled (mousedroid)

This is an all-around, well-balanced color scheme. The full-mantled cape with the single star brooch sits perfectly in that space as though it were meant to be a part of the Justice pattern. It looks like you used different blues on the gloves and boots. I’d make those uniform with the lighter blue.

Victori (Starwind)

Here we have what looks like a spunky, American sidekick. It’s an overall nice design. I really like the clever use of stripes on the shirt, and the balance of colors works well. My only nitpick might be the belt, but I’d have to see how others might look before making a definitive call on that.

Mr. Masterson (Chrono_Stream)

I like it. It works on a variety of levels. You used the palette to great effect while maintaining a teacher quality to his appearance. What upper body pattern is that? I don’t think I’ve seen it before.

And the winner is...Color Guard!
